In the metro Atlanta area, Foreverfamily has several programs designed to nurture our kids socially, emotionally, and educationally in an enriching environment.
After-school care can be a dilemma for working families. Foreverfamily offers a safe, accessible alternative with homework assistance three afternoons a week, as well as activities that introduce children to new ideas, languages, history and more.
Our after-school program helps children cope psychologically with the effects of having their parents imprisoned by allowing them a safe place to interact with other children in similar situations.

The Foreverfamily Teen Leadership program provides an empowering forum where our teenagers can discuss the issues they face, become engaged in their community and build leadership skills through service learning and intergenerational mentoring. Teens also play an important role by mentoring their younger peers in our afterschool program.
ATL (About Teen Life)
Participants in our Leadership Development & Career Exploration Program, where teens have opportunities to interact with professionals in various career fields, and learn more about themselves through leadership & career assessments.
Every summer, 60 of our children ages 6 to 17 spend a week at day camp or an overnight residential camp engaged in fun personal development and cultural enrichment activities. They experience nature, swim and make crafts, all while learning life skills that will carry them beyond Foreverfamily.
Special Programming in Atlanta
While Foreverfamily has helped children for over twenty-five years connect with their incarcerated parents through prison based family visitation, what’s different in our Atlanta affiliate is that we’re bringing our services right into the heart of the neighborhood. Our youth-oriented out-of-school programs held at Foreverfamily Atlanta, which is located inside the Heritage Station Apartment community in Southwest Atlanta, focus on helping children develop their educational, interpersonal and leadership skills using service learning as a core component as well as enriching their experience with cultural and recreational activities through a three day a week program and an out-of-urban week long summer camp experience. Foreverfamily Atlanta provides comprehensive services to the children and families beyond our core services of family visits inside the prisons and classes for the incarcerated parents.Share this page
