MAKE A DIFFERENCE. INSPIRE HOPE. GET INVOLVED!
VOLUNTEER WITH OUR FAMILY
We need your help. Foreverfamily depends on volunteers. They power everything we do, from preparing meals, working one-on-one with our youth, or chaperoning a prison trip so kids can visit with their incarcerated parents. At any given time, we have nearly 60 volunteers, drawn mainly from local colleges and churches, working anywhere from one to 20 hours a week.
More than just give, we know our volunteers take away much from their time with Foreverfamily. We make sure they know we value their input; we make certain all our volunteers have a chance to debrief and tell us what worked and what didn’t. We make a point of acknowledging their service at every opportunity.
Above all, we provide training and enrichment programs for our volunteers to make sure they have as much of an opportunity to grow as our children.
“I’ve really enjoyed volunteering at Foreverfamily these past few months. I think it’s such an amazing program and I’ve loved getting to know the kids. It’s a part of my week that I always look forward to!”

Ways You Can Make a Difference this School Year!
FVP (Family Visitation Program)
Every 2nd Saturday (minus the “J” months), 5:30am-6:30pm
Description: FVP provides children with the opportunity to visit their parents on a consistent basis thereby strengthening family bonds, increasing the children’s self-esteem and improving the likelihood that the children will become successful adults. Volunteer chaperones commit to a 13-hour day, interacting with the kids on the bus, facilitating activities for parents to do with their children and serving lunch inside the prison, and surrounding kids with love. Volunteers can also help prepare food and activities the Friday before the trip or help with the monthly birthday party after the trip.
YEP (Young Entrepreneurs Project)
4 hours/month, September 2015 to May 2016
Description: YEP is a yearlong pilot program for Foreverfamily participants ages 16-28 who are eager to start their own enterprise. If you are a successful entrepreneur who can give 4 hours each month to mentor a Foreverfamily YEP fellow, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
YEZ (Youth Engagement Zone)
Friday & Saturday November 6-7th (2-9pm; 8am-3pm)
Description: YEZ focuses on developing and celebrating youth voice as a method for transforming community. Volunteers assist with the YEZ Retreat (Friday) and Youth Summit (Saturday). The retreat trains and prepares Ff youth to co-lead and facilitate the YEZ Summit, in which 30 community youth compete in a solutions challenge, working with a team to propose a solution to a youth identified challenge in front of a panel of diverse leaders.
